Our Values

  • A church that holds fast to Biblical teaching and the ultimate authority of Scripture.

  • A church where discipleship is foundational; intentionally training leaders for kingdom work and for releasing.

  • A church where members are in constant pursuit of sanctification.

  • A church that practices and celebrates the sacraments of baptism and communion.

  • A church led by servant elders as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-17 and Titus 1:5-9. Elders who lead and care for the members, providing appropriate church discipline when necessary.

  • A church where fellowship and family are prized; sharing and caring for one another's spiritual and physical needs.

  • A church where children and youth are a valued part of the church body; encouraged to use and grow in their God-given gifting.

  • A church where everyone is welcome, no matter the background.

  • A church whose members reach the lost in the community through service and evangelistic activity.

  • A church that consistently gives financially to local and global mission.

Statement of Faith

As King’s Church we affirm the following as a basic summary of what we believe; simple truths about God and His works.

THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible to be the complete Word of God; that the sixty-six books, as originally written, comprising the Old and New Testaments were verbally inspired by the Spirit of God. The Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith, practice and the true basis of Christianity. The Bible is entirely free from error.

(2 Timothy 3:16)

GOD

We believe in one God, Creator of all. God is holy, sovereign, eternal, just. God exists in three equal, yet distinct Persons; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

(Psalm 102:25-27)

FATHER

We believe in the absolute and essential deity of God the Father. He has laid the plan for everything from eternity past, and works everything together for that plan. His relationship to believers is as a Father; who chooses, loves, and provides for His children.

(1 Corinth. 8:6)

JESUS CHRIST

We believe in the absolute and essential deity of Jesus Christ. He existed eternally with the Father. We also believe that Jesus was fully human. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, triumphant ascension, and in His return.

(John 1:1-14)

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the absolute and essential deity of the Holy Spirit who indwells those who believe in Jesus Christ. The Spirit convicts of sin, of righteousness and of judgment. He regenerates, sanctifies, gives spiritual gifts, illuminates the Scriptures, and comforts believers.

(John 16:8-11)

SATAN AND DEMONS

We believe that Satan exists as an evil being, the originator of sin, the archenemy of God and man. He is a created being and in no way equal to God. Satan deceived a great number of demons when he rebelled against God, and now they wreak havoc on humanity. However, through Christ, we have been given authority over the dark forces. Satan and demons will ultimately be defeated when Jesus returns and throws the evil one into the lake of fire.

(Rev. 20:10)

MAN

We believe that man was created in the image of God. All people have inherent value and dignity. We also believe that all life has value and should be protected equally, from conception until natural death.

(Gen. 1:26-28)

SIN

We believe that man sinned against God, becoming guilty before Him, resulting in total depravity, thereby incurring physical and spiritual death. To sin is to commit a moral act against God and His revealed word.

(Gen. 3)

SALVATION

We believe that salvation was purchased for all who would place their faith in Jesus Christ through His death on the cross. His death was a once-for-all, willing sacrifice that paid the debt we owed because of our sin. We believe that all who place their faith in Christ have their sin, as well as the wrath of God removed from them. Humans are dead in their sins, it is impossible for them to choose Christ in their own power. Therefore, God has called and elected those He has chosen to be saved before the world was even made.

(1 Corinth. 15:3-8, John 6:44)

FUTURE THINGS

We believe in the personal, bodily and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust.  We also believe in the eternal blessedness of the redeemed, and in the conscious, eternal punishment of the wicked.

(Rev. 20-22)

THE LOCAL CHURCH

We believe that a church is a body of believers, called out from the world, separated unto the Lord Jesus. The church gathers for the ministry of the Word, the mutual edification of its members, the propagation of the faith and the observance of the sacraments. We believe it is a sovereign, independent body, under the Lordship of Christ, the Great Head of the church. The Church has been commissioned by Jesus to make disciples, baptise them, and teach them to obey all He has commanded. We believe that the officers of the local church are elders, and deacons.

(Matt. 28:18-19)

SACRAMENTS

We believe that there are two sacraments for the church to regularly observe:

  • Baptism, which is the sign of the new covenant, and ought to be given to all who have repented from sin and profess faith in Jesus Christ.

   (Gal. 3:27-28)

  • The Lord’s Supper/communion which is to be done in remembrance of Jesus, and His work on the cross. Communion is to be taken by those who profess faith in Christ.

(Luke 22:19-22)

CIVIL GOVERNMENT

We believe that civil government is of divine appointment for the interest and good order of society. That government officials are to be prayed for, conscientiously honoured and obeyed, except in the things opposed to the teaching of the Bible, the practice and history of the Church, or in cases of conscientious objection.

(Romans 13:1-7, Acts 4:19-20, Acts 16:37)
